The stocks tend to bottom out today

The bottom out is defined as they pull up from their latest 20 weeks low, and getting close to their low position again. Normally if double bottom patter is formed, they could have a nice chance. This is the logistics behind this method.

Those stocks include
SIRF ALK BDN ACTG ORA OSTE SONO AVZA

For those traditional stocks today,
GOOG : extremely overbought and close lower than 508, its previous high.
FMCN : close to its resistence level, likely to breakout.
ICE: though raise about $7 today but volume tamp,RSI tamp, not sure what he can do.
AAPL: though I haven't sold it but already add the $120 stop to this guy. Volme tank, extremely overbought.
HMIN: typical bottom out.
AOB: got hammer today due to the new offerings.
MA: its time to come back .

====== Update notes =====

I am bullish on FMCN. If it pulls back to 42-43 range, I will add more.

About the CC, do we want to prepare more to have sth solid before the call?

happydayone said...

agree with bobby. I prefer doing some homework first.

bobobobo said...

to skiii,

right now, I am in NJ. when u mentioned central us, I came up with ne because my cousin went to nebraska university for his phd.

holly molly, I don't even know that state when he first told me back in 1990s.

the good side is Warren Buffett is a native son of ne and still stay there.

happydayone said...

bobobobo, I had a quick look at WCC in your list. The company is almost like a retail store to see kinds of utility electrical equipments, telecom cable or home electrical equipments. The home construction sector is not that positive given that the overall home industry. I am not sure about the telecom sector. But utility infrastructure reconstruction is quite hot, at least in next 2~3 years. However the company's utility sector selling is very disappointing.

I needs to go home now. Will type more

to qianhu,

yes, I am thinking about change my career. although in my field, you become more valueable if stay longer.

by now, my trading record and experience should be good enough to help me get a job in wall street. especially with my models, and I have connections there.

but join ib, doing buy/sell side investment is more promising to me. however, I don't have background in this field.

that's why I might need to go back to school at some point.

I am just saying that if you don't have skype, download one and I will try out with qianhu first.

m31 said...

Qianhu,

you commented HMIN shows bottom out. I am wondering what has driven the rally at the opening today; I didn't see any news. In fact I was thinking it might go down because of the fall of Chinese stock index. Thanks.

brisk said...

I think we can try out skype (or yahoo messenger - I used it with voice before). Before everyone get on line officially, maybe qianhu or someone can come up with a meeting agenda, even like simply something like "chat for fun" will be good enough. :-)
The time of meeting will be hard to pick. For me, at office, I definitely cannot use voice. I can provide underground forum for you guys if we want to discuss more and dont want to go public (IPO :-))

bobobobo said...

hey happydayone,

show me what you get. the more you can dig out, the more I can tell you.

happydayone said...

Bobobo, sorry for the delay. My daughter just went to bed. here is the digging finding:

The electrical equipments is the core part of wcc's business. They sell the products to industrial, electrical distribution and electrical contractors. It really likes homedepot but facing different customer. In first Q of 2007, it is stated that its core business grow 2% (although the overall sale increase 15% compared to 2006 1Q, I don't how this significant difference occured). We can assume that the electrical equipments sale which is the core business only grow 2%. Then let's look at its main supplier of electrical equipments, which is Eaton. 17% of WCC products are from Eaton. However the Eaton's sale n 1Q of 2007 rose 5% comparing 1q, 2006. We can see that WCC is lagging significantly to its competitors represented by Eaton here.(A little bias).

The other company imaging WCC is BGC. BGC sells mainly Cable to electrical distribution and transmission industries. The overlap between these two company is little but they serves same industry: electrical utility. The overall sales electrical infrastructure products sale of BGC grows 14%.

The above lists my observation about WCC's 1Q business enviroment regarding its electrical equipments sector.
However WCC is expanding its telecom infrastruction business. I don't have any comments on it. I will investigate further if I have more time.

My 1cents to bobobobo

happydayone said...

I am going to read WCC's annual report this weekend in detail to figure out its financial strength.

Metronic said...

to bobobobo,
I think working in finance area doesn't need a degree in that area. Why not try to get some recruiters first? see what they say.
Because I am not that experienced as you, probably won't be able to give too much valuable info now. but I would try to tell you whatever I know.

Metronic said...

To m31,
it might go down one or two days but this won't affect that the bottom is set.
good luck in trading:)

happydayone said...

hi, qianhu: could you help me comment on BGC more. Do you think it is worthwhile of purchase from FA pointview? Many thanks.

bobby said...

heihei, I am happy too, especially for the reason that I caught it yesterday on my own at 69.5. :))

happydayone said...

CMI is making engine. Check its balance sheet and cash flow. It is excellent.
It is just upgraded. TAwise, the momentum is very strong. Vankie say that it may go to $105.

happydayone said...

AmZN is really cool.

Metronic said...

coming back to CMI,
it is also a fundamental sound stock, and 05/29 is the best time to get in. this is ma hou pao. Let's see what happydayone can tell us. :)

Metronic said...

bobby,
AMZN breaks out with volume, probably you can set the trailing stop now.:)

m31 said...

to happydayone,

That is really a pick for CMI. Could you please kindly share how you noticed this quiet one before the upgrade? As Bobobobo said, I'd like to learn how to fish instead of asking for fish from you. Your comments are much appreciated!

to Qianhu,

hehe, did you speed or wrong parking? It must feel great to fight the ticket off your back:)

bobby said...

呵呵,谢谢千户,我早卖了,to take 6%profit了。稍带着把FMCN也卖了。等调整。

CMI牛。happydayone 牛。cong。

Metronic said...

to m31,
I had a wrong parking , hehe
parking without permit. :)

to bobby,
that is a nice move:)
cong cong cong:)

happydayone said...

CMI is not my pick. It is shadan's pick. I watched it out when it dropped from the peak. It is typcial correction. Usually there will be some signal comeout before real breakout. I noticed it several days before breakout due to intensive monitoring. The day before upgrade, CMi went up with fair amount of volume. The close price is high. Most important, MM of CMI that day controlled the price under $90.00 for long time. So I got in.

Metronic said...

to happydayone,
cong again, efforts pay off:)

(look at this news:
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070605/mastercard_stake.html?.v=1
NEW YORK (AP) -- A hedge fund called Lone Pine Capital LLC disclosed late Monday it sold its 6.1 percent stake in MasterCard Inc., a credit card network.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Lone Pine Capital said it liquidated its stake in MasterCard, which totaled 4.9 million shares. Lone Pine Capital reported its stake on a Schedule 13G, an SEC document for investors who are not seeking to influence a company's operations. Such filers aren't required to provide a reason for any changes in stake and don't have to disclose any transactions to the SEC.

Shares of MasterCard sank $3.44, or 2.3 percent, to $147.81.

how to buy option in IB? never do it before. Can anybody help me?

bobobobo said...

To fanzhi and the other young guys,

Don't bet with old gun, you will lose your underwear.

HOoooooooooooooooh!

Metronic said...

to bumpkin,
hehe, I don't have insider news. Just from the FA perspectives. It should not reach the value as it was and ran off the gas.
hehe

Metronic said...

to happydayone,
we got chance everyday, and you should think like this, in a -100 points day, you are still making money. oh, man!

Metronic said...

hey bobobobo brother,
You do need to give out warning from time to time!:)

happydayone said...

I don't have chance every day. I used up all of my buying opportunity today in IB. I bought and sold AMZN (-30.00) and Rimm (gain 50.5) today due to the "Congdong". Shame on myself.

BTW, I got some wynn before I used up all the trading at cost of 97.5. Bless myself tommorrow.

m31 said...

Thanks Happydayone. Since CMI is not news driven, it is so nice of you for sharing your reasoning with us.

bobobobo, which is "bet with old gun"? MA? xiao ma ge?? Sorry I am slow...

happydayone said...

hi, bobobobo. Could you please comments on my observation? I needs your feedback so that I have more encouragement to look further.

Metronic said...

To happydayone,
hehe,d on't worry about wynn, actually it is my next target after getting out from AAPL. But i shift my AAPL stop to $121.

happydayone said...

These two days, I got too much distraction from my work due to stock. It is not good. I won't surf any stock board for 2 days as a "penalty" for myself.

I will read the book I got it from stor: one up on wall street-from Peter Lynch

Metronic said...

hehe enjoy reading:)
